DC - Looking to Crew

Looking to get involved this season in the DC-Annaplois-Alexandria sailing scene and gain experience with larger boats. Grew up in FL sailing smaller boats, with sporadic larger boat experience. Work 9-5 so would be looking for weekends or after work crewing.

Thanks,

Mark

Re: DC - Looking to Crew

Google Spin Sheet for Annapolis sailing. Lots of small cruisers and one designs that race at Washington Sailing Marina, south of airport. Put a note on on the board in the sales office..

See if the Sailing Club of Washington (SCOW) still exists. They were sailing Flying Scots every Thursday afternoon at the marina on the Potomac River near National Airport and had a social mixer/meeting once a month in the American Legion Building in Alexandria.

Re: DC - Looking to Crew

try SOS singles on sail boats, they sponsor weekend sailing on larger boats in the Annapolis area. They have a great spring training get together this weekend. great way to sail different boats.

Mark,

I'm in the Annapolis area, and looking for crew for Wednesday night racing on my Pearson 30. Send me a PM if interested.

Re: DC - Looking to Crew

Thank you all for your responses, very helpful.

Bubblehead I can't send PM yet, need a few more posts.
I work in Downtown DC so would be able to make it to Annapolis by 630pm at the earliest I believe (never have done the commute). What time are you looking to sail by, and do you need crew on Sat/Sun at all?

Crud.

The gun goes off at 6pm, dock call is 5pm. I guess that won't work for you. Still, PM me when you're able to. We'll talk about it.

Re: DC - Looking to Crew

I'll be going out every weekend I can get the chance to. Send me a PM or email me. I'm in Severna Park. Went out last weekend and it was fantastic except for all the fog yesterday morning.
