I need an introduction to a marina or yacht club

Well, I'm 26 and wanna sail and learn as much as I can about sail boats. So anyone care to show me the ropes? I can pay for food, drinks, fuel, etc. I live in Tacoma Washington right near point defiance park. In other words around tons of marinas. But I'm tired of looking at boats from the dock. I'm ready for the real thing. I'm out going easy to get along with and I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty. I can email my pic and info or answer any questions. Just asking for an introduction into the world of sailing. If your interested email me at troyanthony94@gmail.com and my days off work are Sunday Monday. Hope someone replies! .

Re: I need an introduction to a marina or yacht club

Troy,

You might try Googling sail clubs and/or sailing associations in your area. Typically less expensive to join than a yacht club, no sponsorship involved. I did that when I wanted to learn how to sail and was able to crew on other people's boats for races and day sails. I was able to get a feel for sailing, determine whether I liked it and learn about boats before buying my own.

Well worth a try.

Good luck and welcome.

There's 7 crew wanted ads on this page: CYCT - Corinthian Yacht Club of Tacoma Crew Wanted Page

from the Corinthian Yacht Club of Tacoma site. Not sure how "fresh" they are.
