Re: Female 1st Mate Wanted

match.com would be far easier than a sailing site. Why people try on various forums is beyond me... If you want to find something on the internet you have to go to the source... Now, if you wanted to find single men - then by all means Sailnet is your answer...

Re: Female 1st Mate Wanted

This is just my opinion, of course, but if I was looking for an opportunity such as the OP described, I think I'd be wary of jumping into anything based on one post. I see those posts often. A single man or woman looking for a sailing soul mate/companion/whatever. Now, I understand that there's possibly a time frame that coincides with weather, but really, I think a better way to go about things would be for the person seeking to spend some time posting in a forum so people can get to know him/her. I get that anyone can portray him or herself in any way online, but I think eventually your true personality comes out over time. I mean, we've certainly had our share of whackadoodles around here who started out perfectly rational but they couldn't help but flake out eventually. For some people it's hard to sustain normal. I'd hate to be in the middle of the ocean and discover the skipper is a sociopath.

Re: Female 1st Mate Wanted

I can see this will eventually go badly.

As for the OP, I would tell every bartender in town and they'll spread the word for you, assuming you don't look like you have horns.

I don't know too many woman that would take up an offer like that, but I do know there are all kinds of people and you will find one eventually. It's been done before.

As for the subtle subservient nature you're looking for, they exist as well as those that would never tolerate it. Its when they start off one way and change 500 miles from shore that you're in trouble.

Normally I wouldn't point out the misused apostrophes, but in a post proclaiming your genius I think it's fair game.

Nevertheless, I wish you well in your quest.
