Crew wanted West Palm Beach to Bahamas

About the middle of January, I'll be sailing my Tartan 37 from West Palm Beach to the Abacos in the Bahamas. I've made this crossing seven times.

I'm seeking non-smoking crew to help. You don't need a lot of sailing experience, but you will need a willingness to learn, a sense of humor, and an ability to stand watches.

You need a current passport. I'll supply food. You are responsible for transportation to and from the boat.

Interested? E-mail me at sailingcrew08 at gmail dot com.

I respond to all replies.

Bill

Reread Bill post carefully again. He asked anyone interested in the trip email him directly. Following direction and paying attention to details are important part of crewing for others. Crossing the gulf stream can be dangerous and team work is a must to survive.

I am just sayin'

Good for you. Boat usually survives better than the monkey whom she carries.

Re: Crew wanted West Palm Beach to Bahamas

Happy New Year!

I am replying to your call for non-smoking crew from West Palm Beach to the Bahamas in mid January. I have yet to do an ocean crossing but did several night watches in the Caribbean while island hopping between Grenada and Tortola in the last two years. Some weeknight racing experience and one Antigua Sailing Week.

How many days is the crossing to the Bahamas? I do not know the winds at that latitude. Are they easterlies? Is it a steady beat into the wind? A good work if true.

I am Canadian with a valid passport, 61, retired and keep fit at the local gym.I haven't been seasick (yet) and love to sail. My goal is to be ready for an ocean crossing when/if it comes my way. If you are willing to consider me as a candidate for your crossing, I can be available on a moment's notice. Look forward to hearing from you.

Kindest regards,
Wallace Bradley

Hello again. Anyone with experience crossing between West Palm Beach and Abacos and reading my reply to this post must be laughing out loud at my ignorance. I heard the crossing could be interesting but I had no idea how interesting. That said, I resubmit my application with double my original enthusiasm and urge you to contact me at your earliest convenience. Skype also works.
Thank you.

Hey,

actually I'm in SC for some time and I am interested in sailing. Are you still planning to leave to the Bahamas?
Please contact me to check and discuss.

best regards
