A question to all boat owners

Here is a question: What are my chances of being accepted as a crew if I am 16yrs old, but have some sailing experience?

If you mean as racing crew, your chances are probably pretty good. As offshore crew, they are probably next to nil.

The more people you meet the better the chances. Meet people at a racing club: some members will know others with boats going offshore. We''ve taken young people as part of the crew when offshore racing on Lake Superior. All were guided to us by mutaul friends.

Depends on where you are trying to sail... Try some racing, that is how I got into it myself, before I could afford a boat of my own. I sail lake erie, would be happy to take you along sometime as well...
