Ahoy,
A friend of mine "found" you online and has not stopped talking about you for days. She insists that I could have written your profile.
I visit Puerto Vallarta two or three times each year for the past 6 years and plan to retire there as soon as humanly possible.
I have fallen in love with the people, the culture and the pace of life, not to mention the incredible beauty.
I know that you are currently sailing but I am not sure if you will be returning to the Pacific Northwest or if sailing is your permanent lifestyle. I will be in PV at the end of October if you''re anywhere near the neighborhood, perhaps we could enjoy some fun in the sun and water together.

Thanks for the invitation, but it will take me a long time to bring the boat back to the Pacific North Wet. I might be in BC this winter for a short visit though. The rest of the time I hope to be somewhere warm and sunny.

I saw that you have a Fraser 41. While I probably wouldn''t be available to co-captain, I would be interested in your opinion of the boat, as I am looking at purchasing one. Specifically:

Good, bad things in general about the boat.

Engine access - seems pretty scary for me

Sailing characteristics

Boat motion in a seaway.

General build quality.

Sea Gypsy,

I tried to e-mail you at your yahoo account but it got rejected - was a good note, too. I am a boat owner/sailor currently on assignment to the Middle East. I will return in June 06 to a totally re-fit boat. I have spent years sailing the Pacific off the west coast of California but have spent the past 5 years sailing the Atlantic and living on my boat.
I have several plans (optional, of course) for the future which may include a trip through the canal and on to Mexico or to spend some extended time sailing south of Puerto Rico. Like you, should I discover the pleasure of sailing with a dedicated companion/first mate, destination decisions will be made together.
I''m formally educated with a degree in Spanish, my B.A. in Linguistics and an M.A. in Socio-Linguistics. Professionally I''ve been in education from the university level to a one year stint as an ESL Coordinator for an elementary school. I''ve been in business for myself a couple times and my last venture had me with a small chain of sports bars/restaurants - a business that always looks more attractive from the seat of a customer than an owner. It eventually became adult day care.

I am single and have been for a number of years. I have one son, grown but still in college taking the "scenic" route. He''s a great son and one that anyone would be proud of - he''s just now finding his "academic stride".

It would be a great pleasure hearing from you - I will await your reply in the event you still have a "crew" vacancy.
