Med to the Caribbean

Can someone please advise me on when most of the charter Yachts leave the Med and head to the Caribbean for the season. I am looking at doing a season in the Caribbean after this Med season and want to secure a position to take me over there as well.

Also, any guidance on salary levels for a deck hand with STCW95, RYA Comp Crew and 1000 delivery miles would be greatly appreciated.

we crossed from grand canary to guadeloupe
in January. had a great trip.

Hello Matt,
a load of of boats cross together for the ARC in November -safety in numbers etc...but after hurricane season is best, ie mid October and later...(June too soon, July stand by, August come she must, September remember, October it''s all over -HURRICANES)
I think u are looking at paying rather than getting paid right now, but keep searching net for a boat needing crew on expenses shared basis -I am also looking -may have something- but last yr people were asking $1000+ for a berth! so i think shared basis is the way to go -until u get a paid job of course! email me with any ideas etc...Fair Winds mate

hi matt...you may want to do a little research on hurricane season (eg National Weather Service site) -it''s seems that in recent years they are still around as late as Nov...cheers

Can anyone give me some information on the Work Visa’s needed to crew (paid) on vessels in the Caribbean.
