I figured out how to
rig and launch my V-21 solo recently. I tie a
line around the mast just above the boom bracket, run that line under the bow
cleat and back to me. I also tie off the
jib halyard to the mast and keep the other end free beside me. I lay out all the lines and make sure my halyards aren't gonna run up the tree, snatch the mast while standing in the cockpit, shove it forward while pulling the line tight. Make sure you have the nut loose and flush on the mast base or it'll bind. After I have it forward I tie off the line to the mast, pull the jib halyard forward and figure eight it on the bow
cleat and leasurely set the forstay wire. When launching, use that same line tied from the trailer post to the bow cleat as you get the boat to slide off. It'll slide out and hit the end of the line and rebound to ya so you can pull it to the side of the trailer and ground it. Go park the truck, push off and hop on with an oar at the ready to back off until you can seat the rudder and raise sail. Be sure to bend on sail while trailered, much easier but don't hoist. Make sail after ya get 'er pointed to windward jib first then the main as ya drop keel. Enjoy!
