23 year old experienced sailor wants to crew

I am a 23 year old sailor in California in search of paid crew opportunities. I have sailed southern California's waters since before I could walk. I raced the 2003 Transpac and have sailed in many Newport-Ensenada races.

Any suggestions as to where I might find crew/deckhand opportunities for regional or international private yachts?

Thanks for any help you may be able to give.

Crew agencies. Look 'em up online. Lacasse in SD. Crew Unlimited, Luxury Yacht Group etc. in Ft. Lauderdale. Some in the med I can't think of right now. While you're at it look up STCW95. A week long safety at sea course prerequisite to employment on most yachts. (about 1000 usd) Lots of jobs but not as many on this side(I'm in Newport Beach on a private motor yacht) as on the east side. Lauderdale is the centre of the industry.

I have found a class for STCW 95, from Marine Institute Inc. in San Diego. The class begins OCt. 30th and is for STCW 95 and AB's - HOWEVER what is "AB"? they also offer STCW95 and Deckhand. The first class i mention is 5 days and the second is 3 day- which is better?

I believe the five day course is the one you want. The STCW 95 and AB refer to a class of merchant marine. AB's are higher-ranked than deckhands, and I believe are capable of taking a bridge watch, which deckhands are not qualified to do....and the course is a bit more comprehensive.
