Why so much static I thought your request was alluring. A word not used enough.
Have you had any luck,

Not really, but then I didn't really expect much. Kind of a nothing ventured, nothing gained.

John,

I faced the same problem a few years back. I was single and having a ball cruising around the Bahamas and the Keys. On evening, as I was watching a fantastic sunset from a lovely anchorage in the Berry Islands, I realized how much more fun it would be to share this experience with someone special.

To make a long story short, I placed an ad in a scuba diving magazine looking for a female dive buddy and cruising companion. Several gals replied and I struck up a great e-mail relationship with one of them. She was an avid diver and was drawn to the cruising lifestyle. After 3 months of daily e-mails, we met and it was love at first sight. We've been together for 3 years now.

So, hang in there. Your/my approach to meeting someone special may be non-traditional, but it can work.

Good luck!!

He-He-He.

Beezer, whasss up annyway? There's more chicken out there than kentucky fried. Wish I could give you a couple of mine, but they don't want to leave me.

Check marinas, club, bulletin boards, and laundromats near the marina. Homeless centers are usually a good place to pick up crew. Hose them down and dress them up and they're not so bad. Another place is AA, usually you can get them drunk and they don't know where they're at til you're 100 miles out to sea. Women's shelters are good. Bring Prozac.

Good luck. Right now there's so many snowbirdettes heading south there should be no problem. I was really considering a transgender female (male->female), but maybe that would be too kinky. Plus he/she was taller and more muscled than me.

Secret, get a big camera and act professional.
