Accepting the risk of unending merciless guffhaws ...
... I have decided to inquire about female crew for the trip south, or a lady singlehander that would like to buddy boat.
First off, this is NOT a singles ad. But after 6 months, I realize that cruising would be more fun as a shared adventure, and as I prefer the company of women, it only makes sense to post it as such.
Nor am I looking for a galley wench, but rather someone who would like to go cruising as a friend, sharing the chores and expenses (minus boat costs). Sailing experience is not as important as being able to carry on a conversation, a desire to see new things, and a healthy attitude. There are no other expectations beyond having a friend to cruise with.
I'm currently in Annapolis through the Boat Show, and will then be heading south. If this is of interest to you, a PM would probably spare you the aforementioned guffhaws.

PBz-
I'm going to be nice, but I really hope certain members of sailnet, specifically a crazed portagee and a former Seawolf owner don't see this thread... This is just too easy a target.... so I'm not even going to take a shot--it wouldn't be sporting....

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Now that was done with class. You might end up with a flotilla.

Dawg - I posted, fully aware of the risk of ridicule, or should I say certainty of ridicule? Your forebearance is appreciated.
Capn - thanks.

PB, you also have a lot more credibility than some 1 post weirdo looking for action.

I need to confess that my initial instinct was to have a bit of fun with this post - at your expense. But after further consideration, reflecting upon your situation and sincerity of the offer, I realized it would be in very poor taste.
SailNet is actually a smart venue for your proposal and a potentially great opportunity for the right woman to be Aria's first mate, perhaps even yours . . . even if just for a short period.
Best wishes John.

As the saying goes, nothing ventured, nothing gained. I appreciate it being viewed in the spirit it was posted TB.

PBz-
BTW, I wish you the best in this venture, and am awed at the courage it took to post such a message, knowing what kind of crowd you've got here.
But then again, I married the woman I met through a blind date, setup by people who never met me, barely knew her, and told me that I was going to be going out with the "not-pretty sister". She turned out to be the love of my life and one of the most beautiful women I've ever had the pleasure of meeting, so you never really can tell what will happen.

That never stopped me before, but today I'll act like I have some class.
