Thumbs up I can't dig another hole this summer

When I say holes, I don't mean financial or figurative, I mean landscaping holes. In northern California heat. I have the option of being a whitewater river guide, but what I really want is to be in, on, or around, sailboats. I have sailed quite a bit on my own. I have owned a few boats, I worked in a marina in Tahoe doing restoration, and have taken sailing classes on the columbia river in Oregon. They say it's not what you know, but who you know, and I think for a guy who is 34 I know a fair amount. I sure could use to know a ton more. That is where knowing someone would be wonderful. I want to learn more. Hope to know some of you. Tony asivesind at yahoo dot com

Asivesind-

It would help if you said what kind of experience you have and what kind of work you're looking to do... what you've posted is pretty vague. Do you want to crew... do you want to work as a launch operator at a marina, yacht club or sailing school?? Do you want to work in a boatyard repairing sailboats??

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

another hole

sorry for the vague post. Yes I would like to be in a marina type job. I am not really interested in restoration so much, as I really do not want to sand and paint another bottom. I have a real interest in rigging and marine systems. I also am looking to crew, either for racing in the s.f. bay or delivery, or even long term.

Talk to a sail loft or rigging company, and see if they need an apprentice. Both businesses will have connections to boats racing... and working there can get you a shot at crewing.
