How to make fresh herbs last on a boat

Helllo all,
So if your one of many who enjoy the taste of fresh herbs for your meals at sea, such as:
parsley
Basil
thyme
sage
and many more.... You can dice them and then freeze them in ice cube trays and use them as you need them up to 3 months! They really come in handy when fresh is not an option.

Best regards,
Kevin Conery

Or, you can simply keep lives plants onboard. We always had basil growing on our last boat and placed the plant in one of the head sinks whenever sailing.

Great tip! I'll use that at home too.

I'd also settle for learning how to keep them alive. I've never had much luck with that part as they usually died under my not-so-green thumb.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

I don't know; it seems that half of my fishing years my crews were either vegetables or extremely familiar with "herbs" ..........

Great tip! I keep a small pot of Cilantro growing on board but I don't exactly have the room for a whole herb garden.
