I'll be doing the above trip after leaving Marathon this Saturday (3/22). Weather permitting, it will be a series of overnight hops from Miami to Ft Pierce, Ft Pierce to St Augustine, St Augustine to Hilton Head Island, and then a 2 night jump to the Beaufort Inlet. I do though, plan to spend a few days at Hilton Head.
Not actively looking for crew, but am willing to take on someone who would like the experience, for any or all of the legs of the trip. I run about 4-6 mi. off the coast, except for the last leg.

Not rushing, just tired of sitting. Don't know how long I'll take between hops for sure. Besides, I could use a touch of chilly

Well, chilly will help keep you awake on the long watches.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

We used to live in Key Largo. I don't know if it was just me, but there never seems to be a cooling off season in the Keys anymore. Hotter than a pistol year 'round. We live in Wisconsin now. We plan on cruising in the lower lattitudes during the winter and enjoying the cool wisconsin summers for the remainder.
Keep an eye out for an older gemini catamaran on your trip north. I'm leaving Port Canaveral about the same time you leave the Keys. But I'm sure I'm slower, and that I don't have as much coastal experience as you.
I'm looking to do coastal hops up to Beaufort and I'll be looking for good weather windows to do them in. I have a couple overnighters under the belt now. I'm looking to push the limits a little. Might even go out of sight of land. But I shouldn't be more than the 4-6 miles offshore that you mention.
Weather looks like spending much of next week in Miami, or go up the Ditch, but I'll keep an eye out.
