I'm forced to sell my boat to pay for a wedding. Please, take all the shots you want...I suppose I deserve them
The intent of my post here is that as I will be without a boat for the foreseeable future, is there anyone in the Salem/Marblehead Mass area who is looking for crew for local cruising or perhaps racing? My only racing experience is the Figawi, which I do every year, but as many people know it is not the most competetive race. I figured that crewing during some races would really help further my sailing skills until such a time as the soon to be admiral and I can get another boat.
If anyone in the area is interested give me a shout.
I won't take any shots - I know exactly how you are feeling. In the same process here for the same reason :P (thankfully I get to hang onto the Hobie 16...)
Well, you had my sympathy there right up till the part where I figured out it was YOUR wedding.....tsk....tsk...tsk....
It appears you're doing what I usually do....giving up one thing so you can have something else.....story of my life.....
I do wish you the best however....some trades are up....some are even and some you lose....
Maybe you can sell the boat....shorten the wedding and get a smaller boat?...just a thought.....
Not much to say except for hoping all works out for the best.

Good luck, probably didn't like the boat anyway, Y'know what they say, "it's harder to get a good boat than it is a good wife".
Hope you don't regret it, but on the optimistic side 60% of marriages end in divorce, and at least, if it happens, she won't get the boat! And besides, you're making a photographer, florist, facility owner, and caterer very happy.
Good luck really, must have been a tough decision.
I'd trade my boat (s) - all of them - and never go to sea again for my wife if she asked me. Fortunately that is not likely.
It's not a trade, it's a long term investment. The boat is a short term frolic. Don't let it bother ya, with luck BOTH of you will be back.
Congrats and good luck.

But, if you've picked the right person, it is really worth it all.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
