My delivery captain had to back out so I'm seeking a replacement to help sail a Westerly Centaur from Newport to Bermuda.
Fully equipped with EPRIB, ocean-class
liferaft,
radar,
GPS, etc. Recently surveyed (no major issues) and professionally commissioned. Volvo MD2030 (29hp) with 50 hours.
Myself and 1 other crew will also sail, our flights are booked and we're ready to go! Plan is to sail on June 19th, with 200 Newport Race boats out there at the same time there'll be plenty of (much faster!) company.
Centaurs are tough little boats but not that common in the US; Alan Charlton is single-handed racing his Centaur Plymouth - Azores right now in the Jester Challenge. Good reviews by Practical Sailor and Jack Horner (BoatUS), and a mention of a circumnavigation (Lookfar) in John Vigor book '20 Small Sailboats to Take You Anywhere'.
Look forward to hearing from you!
