Jim,
I have a buddy sails out of Monroe Harbor.
Mac racer for past several years. I can give him your name if you want.
He would probably want you on board for some tune up's, probably wednesday nights. Boat is a Peterson 34 I believe.

You don't want to miss the 100 year anniversary.

My thoughts exactly. Yeah, if you don't mind that would be great. I figured worse case senario a lot of boats have trouble finding crew to bring the boat back from the island.

When do you have your race?

G- I race every weekend June 14th thru August 23rd. Then our biggest races are July 5th and August 30th. If you come over for the race on August 30th, the boat is yours and I will crew for you!

This is the race that I am trying to get a crew position on someone elses boat for: Chicago Yacht Club - Race to Mackinac

T,

Hope you get a ride. I have always been fascinated by the Mac, and make certain that I watch them come thru The Manitous when the weather permits. The only time that Northern Lake Michigan is crowded is during and just after the race.

Never met anyone that regretted finding a way into the race. I have a friend that did many of them when he was younger, and he has always said it was two of the best parties with a race in the middle he has ever experienced.

I subscribe to a newsletter from the race coordinator to keep up on what is happening. The Chats with the Old Goats that are at their website are a fun listen. Some of these old (relative term) guys and ladies are just great.

Good Luck

looking for crew position for Mac Race** FEMALE USCG Captain

Originallly from Chicagoland, living in FL past 15 years, want to come "home" for the 100th mac Race. Currently own & race my 36' Catalina in "true cruising" fleet, but have raced St. Pete, FL to Mexico 3 times on a 41' Tartan, spin class. Now a USCG Captain, too. Fit female-- great on the helm, but not afraid to grind or trim mainsail, either. Please call Diane Fowler, 239-850-4935 or email
