I am a 53 year old medical doctor in Oregon who, together with my 16 year old son, would like to spend some crew time this Summer and Fall. I am ASA-credentialed in Basic, Coastal, Nav, and Catamarrans. My only noteworthy experience has been 2 weeks a year ago in two separate sailing adventures in the San Juans, and a little day-sailing on some local mountain lakes.
I am in private practice in Int Med with lots of ER and Urgent Care experience. Happy to use it on board, if needed.
My son has already graduated from high school, no sailing experience.
We are both reasonably sane, no vices. Both scuba-certified, Eagle Scouts, you know the type. Speak Indonesian, and some Spanish and German.
We are booked to spend 3 months in a long-term charter in the Caribbean Spring '09. Looking to get some real experience for us so my wife doesn't feel like every day is her last next year. (actually, she enjoyed a week with us last year, or maybe it was just Rosario's Resort on Orca).
