Wintering the Arctic?

Hi,

Sorry, wrong formulation for this thread. I'll be back soon.

Uh, have you read the book: "North to the Night" by Alvah Simon

It has already been done recently, with sponsors, and the book was pretty good even though I think he over wintered in Newfoundland. But hey, a book on winter life in Greenland on a boat sounds pretty riveting to me. Snowflakes, wind, ice, polar bears and mostly really cold temperatures you wished you hadn't dreamed of, painful loneliness in the howling winds etc, etc.
My best advice is to place a craigslist ad in, oh, say, Greenland for the girl of your dreams to accompany you on this voyage. And if she does materialize miraculously then I will go too because you will need a cat north of the arctic circle for something keeping the polar bears away.
My better advice is to find a girlfriend, fast, and make other plans, say, around Iceland, or better yet the Bahamas.
My worst advice is for you to travel around the world and write books about it and appear on tv shows if you live through it, and if you don't, well, you will make it into the newspapers.
Realistically, if you contacted Alvah Simon (use google) you might be able to get some advice although I suspect that he is still a bit self absorbed in his web and writing projects. Maybe his wife is getting tired of him!
I am a cat but not female so no PM's for me.

The original post read something to the effect of: "Seeking cute, slender, able bodied woman to accompany me for an over wintering on Greenland. Web and writing skills would be a plus. I am 20 something and red blooded with juices flowing."
So he re-edited his OP to say that he used the "wrong formulation" for this thread. Do you think I scared him off???
In my previous post I forgot to mention that craigslist also has a men-seeking-women and women-seeking-men categories?
The naivetee of youth: anywhere, anytime, anyhow as long as you are cute and ...
I am glad I am not still on the market for a mate.
