Update: Looks as if 7 confirmed for the event as of today. - Sky and his son (2)
- Rita who has sunfish experience only (CL)
- Brian - wants to be introduced to sailing but has off-shore commercial experience. (CL)
- Steve - who has experience and can do just about anything (CL)
- Milah who has sailed before with me (see avatar) - knows nothing about sailing but listens well.
- Kira - loves to sail.
3-4 or other potentials (eye candy type, rail meat) + 2 other potential race experienced sailors.
I'll be able to go up to 12 maybe 14 depending on weight, and having a few share duties of being drink tenders below decks.
Looks like things will shape up nicely - so that is the update and thanks for all participating, I am looking forward to this event!

Kewl, I get to be on the pole! You have a crows nest on that thing too? Kewl!
spinnaker pole you say,,,,,,,hmmmmm......maybe I better get a bit more experience on the C&C I am racing on, as my boat does not have a spin pole, but it does have a whisker pole I am pretty good at using..........
I could probably fill the boat up with kids and spouse too.....than again, I am supposed to be in the south sound on that boat that weekend tooo, or I could come down there and show you how it is done in my boat.........
PS folks, he yells, yells and yells, no smile.................yep, thats my story and i am sticking to it! :rolley es: :rolley es: If you all believe that, I have some swamp land, desert land, and an active volcano I can sell you too! : p

So we are coming to almost the weekend.
I had a engine issue that is now fixed.
Starting this weekend, I will be doing daily sails out. I have to leave for business on the 1st of June, but will be doing the red eye back on the 5th.
This is what I need from those that volunteered:
1. Shirt size.
2. Phone number to reach you at by Sunday.
3. Any allergies or medical conditions that I should be aware of.
4. Your position on global warming (just kidding)
I had a huge response on Craigslist, not so much Sailnet .. but what is important to me is that we all get on the same wavelength. I actually have had zero phone calls for confirmation which I emailed to those with email.. and by evening of Sat I will start calling those that left a number. It is a charity event and I am allowing my business to pay the way so to speak with perks to the crew that do come aboard.
Starting this weekend I would like to get people onboard prior to the event. All next week I will be sailing weather not prohibiting. (four two five) 260-2669... if you got my email or I contacted you on sailnet - now would be the time to confirm and let me know you are not a flake for the event...
See above for what I need.
Additionally, I will need a responsible person to assist me in getting bevs, snacks, etc onboard that meet the need of the team as I really do not want to spend my Friday after redeye getting in having to do the stores issues.... It will be out of my pocket btw..
Those out of area - I have a huge place to stay at prior to to...
That is the update..

See ya!
Luck has it there aren't any flakes here.

I was pretty sure you were on the list - but from the likes of that response, I'll take it that you deemed not. As the last email / pm you had stated you and your son would like to - and I said sounds good. Not sure where the mis-communication is, but I did state to everyone I communicated with that this would be where I would post updates... and you being a Sailnet member this would be the easiest place to post updates...
If you had a question - doubting - my phone number was in there you could of just called or just PMed...But if that is the kinda attitude you think I warrant ...so be it I guess.
I am getting around to calling folks, just been swamped with work, travel, and maintenance...But, honestly I do not feel that I warranted that response considering that the last email exchange I confirmed your spot...but to each their own...

OOOOOPS,
I was trying to be positive in my responce by saying I am glad you got the crew needed to have a nice day of racing etc. That we made the cut and that made me happy. I was saying that I was glad that you were able to suppliment with Craigslist (a very good idea) That I and Max are not flakes and here to make it an enjoyable race. That your communications were fine and that your engine works so that you can get out of the moorage (which can be tight at times).
Sorry, I am here and ready! If you are not mad. I need to take an english class in writing to be able to say in words what I am thinking.
I truely was not trying to be a A@@, but in re reading the reply I posted depending on the mind set it could come out that way.
I was trying sincerely to be very nice, it did not read that way. I sincerely appoligize it came out that way.
