My Final Update

As it stands now - I have called everyone, left messages etc. A few words of wisdom for the event and any other changes (if you notice something is different from previous posts - assume that what is written here is the final word):

You MUST be at Elliott Bay Marina by 10AM (this saturday). No ifs, ands, or buts. So, shoot for getting there at 9:00 / 9:30 and you should have plenty of time to make my all hands crew meeting - if you miss my all hands meeting, you miss the ride. I will not be calling to ask where you are etc. When you arrive - Goto the N-Pier (closest to the Seattle City Skyline) and call me.

information.jpg

I am pretty serious about the time, as you can see in the image - its a long walk to where I am at.

This also means that you need to do research on parking prior to event. I will assume that our parking lot will overflow quite quickly - and remember you can only park where it says Guest / Retail Parking at the marina (or you most likely will be towed). There is parking on the street, at the park that is adjacent to the marina, and at the Magnolia park up the hill. Figure out how you want to do it, and give yourself time to make it in case your first plan doesn't cut it. Ideally, folks could of signed up here and inquired of other crew members for sharing rides - but that didn't exactly happen.

It will most likely be wet and drizzly, and a bit damp (but perhaps actual wind). Layers work best. Dress accordingly, and please wear non-slip shoes for your safety (black soled are fine). Rain or shine the event goes as planned.

If you have PFDs please bring yours as they will most likely be more comfortable for you.

For those that I talked to (voice or I returned their voice mail) I picked up the after-party passes for you , those that I have not - it will be $25.00 if you want to attend. Sorry, but I was explicit in stating with my response emails that I would update here on Sailnet, and that I needed the count by May 29th. As it stands 8 confirmed so that is the number I went by. I am not sure what the deal is with the event t-shirts. I assume they come with the party pass or if not - then if you like one you may purchase one at the event.

Otherwise:

I will be providing water, and regular coke products and a selection of snacks. If you would like to drink adult beverages - please bring your own. Cans are preferred.

Friday evening - I will be trying to get out on the water, I will be leaving at 7:30-7:45. You are invited to come along - and I will head out unless it is gale force winds or its actually heavy rain (drizzle - I am still going). Slight possibly I will do the same Thursday night.

So, otherwise, looking forward to seeing you folks there and having a blast on the water!

1-2. Sky and son
3. Kira
4. Brian W
5. Steve S
6-7. Jo Ann & David
8. Kristin S.

If I missed someone, please see above - but confirm with me.

I can be reached at 425-260-2669 with any other questions (email is not a preferred method at this time as I will be on the boat for the next few days)...

Thanks!

Good luck saturday Jody,

We got a 2nd on actual time in class, and 5th out of 12 last night, corrected overall I believe will be better. Just the boyz and I last night. Best finish yet!

Also, we got into the May 08 48north mag, but got listed as another boat! should be a correction out in July. Pg 71 lower right next to a tbird, says it it a Newport 28, really us, you can see you on the bow after the start.

This weekend is put in a new fuel filter, drain the tank etc.

Talked with Jody earlier on my way home. Had to ask what the "Waldo" was in Elliot bay at the time, ie BIG white cruise liner heading out!

Reed and Leah,
he is staying on the boat tonight, so will probably NOT see your message until sunday or monday. Show up and he will be happy! I may show up too, along with twin sons or none or one or spouse.......then again, may work, or work on putting in a new fuel filter on my rig.
