I've got to give Zeph props for having the cahones to stick around and take the abuse after his initial post. Most guys post something like that, and are never heard from again.
My suggestion would be that you place an ad for a sailor, much like Sway said, but you really don't need to include the tall dark and handsome description of yourself. It's not a dating service. You would do better to give a description of your qualifications to make such a trip. Anyone, especially a woman of narrow beam, should be more concerned about your ability to get them back on land in one piece than your GQ style. If you wish to weed out the men, then exchange descriptions of one another later, good for you.
You may also want to break the trip up into pre-planned legs. You may have better luck getting someone out for a few weeks than a few months or more. This way you'll have several chances at true love.
Good points, and if the crew you pick turns out the be the crew from hell, you're stuck with them for a shorter duration too.

in my opinion " no women with sailing abilities " will ever contact that guy..
he obviously have no clue of sailing..and if he find a "dumb " women to go with him , well they do deserve each other...
Zeph...what he meant is that Tayana 37's have always been built in Taiwan not the USA. In the current market here you can probably get a decent one for 80-100k. Robert Perry design and excellent sea boats. Under 100k, I think they are tough to beat. BUT leaking teak deck and leaking tanks have been issues with many. Given the age...many boats have already been repaired on these issues and would be even better choices than "originals".
Cathy...if he can single hand...perhaps he is simply looking for companionship rather than sailing ability. Perhaps companionship with "benefits". Can't fault him for going after what he wants...perhaps there are better ways though. If you don't think it can happen... I have two words for you "Reid" and "Soanya"....and indeed they deserved each other!!

As far as your ad goes -- get the boat first. It's hard to conceive of any wording that would persuade crew to sign aboard to a non-existent vessel. No offense intended, but as it stands now, you sound like yet another dreamer (worse still, one with a lofty impression of his attributes! ). The type of crew you're looking for is the spontaneous/whimsical sort -- give them too much time to think it over and they'll have moved on to other "offers".
Your current efforts would be better confined to the "Buying a Boat" forum. Seek there and you shall find...
