I guess I luv this site, because of threads like this......

No SD this isn't a dating site, but common it stopped being strictly a 'sailing' site a long time ago so I say why the hell not add a bit of matchmaking in amongst it all.....
oh yes and the mid thread aside about the morality of being a photographer for playboy was just great

Captain Stevie, I am glad you have found someone and hope your now having a ball. Both of you have a Mojito for me....
For the record yeah I found your original post a little crass and clumsy, at first my instinct was to join in and point and laugh, but then I remembered a time in my life a couple of years ago when I found myself single, lonely, overweight and well yeah craving intimacy, and what a low point that period actually was. I do also remember some of the dumb and desperate things I tried. So you are right at worst you were being honest and sincere, but perhaps brutally so.

Points for hanging around to cop the criticism, it is how it goes on Sailnet for better or for worse, and personally I also like that about this site, you will pretty quickly find out on here what people think.

Simon,
You're supposed to solicit for a woman before the Pacific crossing. Typical AFOC; just think of all the gear you could have eliminated if you'd found a woman first! Of course, given your port of departure, one would have had to be rather more thorough in vetting potential crew than might normally be required.

A shotgun, properly used, would definitely work to the betterment of all mankind....

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
