Vancouver island to mexico and beyond summer 09?

I have recently bought a 32ft j.t. taylor sloop, and am in the process of redoing the interior, the hull is sound and the rigging is good.
but the electronics and interior were in very rough shape.

So when that is complete, I will be looking for someone interested in
sailing down to mexico and beyond, maybe the through the canal, maybe on to south america who knows.

I will be looking for someone with a fair bit of experience as I am fairly new to sailing, though I have been working on boats for quite a few years.

you'd have to be very laid back, easy going kind of person, who doesn't mind cranking up some good music while cruising down the coast or, stopping in and checking places out.

There will be no time table.

I'm a 27 year old straight guy, and this will hopefully be a great adventure.

if your interested lets talk

Sounds Like a Grand Adventure

Hey,

My name is Ted, Im 21. Your prospect sounds pretty cool. I live in Colorado but Im originally from Wisconsin. I've spent most of my life on the water in inland lakes. I learned to drive a motor boat and pilot a sailboat before I could drive a car. Ive raced all kinds of scows, 16 foot all the way up to 28 foot, when racing I crewed on the C and E scows, I piloted the x boats in races all over the state. I can sail, Im sure a bigger boat isn't that different. I dig loud music and kickin it. Growing up in the upper Midwest I have a strong work ethic and am pretty handy. I have a itch for adventure right now that these nearly urban Rocky Mountains can't seem to scratch. Im kinda between things in my life right now. Hell, Id even help you finish your boat. I have no commitments right now. What do you see as the cost expenditure for a hanger on like myself?

Sincerly
Ted Scoufis

dunno about cost man, I'm planning on having about 5g with me when I leave, but maybe making a little cash on the way, I scuba dive so I can change zincs and do stuff in marinas etc.. really the expenses are food/fuel occasionally and smokes and booze. not really sure

well that sounds pretty solid. I guess keep me in the loop if you feel like it. I don't have many marketable skills like your scuba diving but I could probably come up with something, Im a pretty smart guy. I figure its a pretty manual place down south so there's probably some work to be done somewhere. If you think that I would work out well let me know. It seems like kicking off is a ways off so you have plenty of time to consider your options. Id be down for learning what I need to and doing anything that needs doing.

Hey man, I seen your post and wanted to see if you're still looking for crew. I just moved to Nanaimo for school but I'm planning on crewing a boat for a few months next spring/summer. I have no sailing experience but I'm going to try to get some before next spring. Other than that I've been a paramedic for the last few years. Where are you located? I could give you a hand with preparations or repairs regardless if you need more crew.

Seems like something with the boat might have fallen through. I checked up his last posts and he was looking for a deck-hand job... pity.
