I want to help Crew From USA to Australia

I must make some valid points here-
Shameless has in his very first post given all his contact details short of his blood group and has said where he is going.
He also has done his visa preparations as he has also posted.
Would anyone be so foolish to give so many details in a public forum of how many thousands of registered users, if not legit?
I think sailingdog and billyruffn fairly gave shameless some reasonable advice which looks to have been appreciated.
Now chall03, I ask you to maybe take a walk around Cabramatta and ask how many people there are $10million Neurosurgeons.
Unless anyone missed the call from Australia looking for Immigrants especially for Medical, IT, Builders, and the list is long on the Aust Immigration website - there are many ways for people to enter the country and remain.
Understandably there are concerns as raised , for the skipper of any sailboat with regard to visas.
Shameless has no doubt done his homework. He made it quite clear he would have enjoyed the adventure of sailing to Australia. Are there not many other users to this site also posting for a sailing adventure?
Shameless, I wish you luck. Maybe just fly to your lady friend. She must be pretty special to make such a move and may you both have a great future together.

Tamoko He hasn't done his homework at all, which was my point.
I am immediately cynical of anyone who volunteers to crew on a +10 000nm ocean voyage and doesn't:

1)Think to mention either sailing experience or whether they can cook/hold a first aid certificate/operate a radio/repair a diesel. Anyone who has ever crewed on an oceang passage or knew the first thing about it would have mnetioned this at the outset.

2)Is expecting the skipper to feed them, but hey don't worry guys you don't need to pay him to freeload a lift on your boat.

3)Thinks you would sail across the Pacific anytime in 2009.....never mind that half the year is cyclone season.

4)know that not alot of boats leave for Australia from the east coast...

Tamoko he also technically doesn't say he has his Visa sorted, he says he has applied.....
I do take your point about Cabramatta, but alot of those people are allowed under refugee status. Shameless is from New York....not alot of New yorker refugees in Cabramatta.

Maybe I was being a little harsh and making my point fairly brutally, I do that sometimes, I dont want to crush dreams, however the burden of responsibility on skippers in relation to crew entering countries is very real and more than a few have been burn't badly.

Dream by all means, love by all means but do the work required to realise your dreams.

It did read rather brutal to me.
The guy, as many others, was looking for the adventure in his quest.
If it was me heading to the arms of a woman, I would get there quickest way possible.
Such is life.

If I was sailing across the pacific and looking for crew I would however pick up this this guy, Notice the difference here in terms of information, attitude and understanding. This is an example of how its done.

Tamoko, your sentiments are noble and very romantic, maybe i am just too cyncial?

If you read any of my previous posts on here you will know I am all for people dreaming and having adventures. If shameless is after the adventure of his life then that is awesome. That he is pursuing love is also great. I didn't mention or attack once his motivation for the passage, But I was just saying that if it was going to happen by boat then the way he is going about it wasn't going to work.....this is the crew wanted thread.....I was addressing he desire to crew, that is all.

I see your point. However I have seen many other posts with less information than shameless posted looking for just the sailing experience only.
I think best back off the guy and not sour his desires to realise his dream. It may well be that he has knowledge in areas and failed to mention in detail that would be as eye catching as the post you quoted.
