Allied Seawind ketch heading from Cape May, NJ to Chessy and points south
Disclaimer: I inspected this yacht and sailed with the new owner from Northport, NY to NYC on a low visibility afternoon recently. We spent one night anchored off City Island and I left him after a fun motor and sail down the East River. At the 59th Street Boat Basin in New York City and took the subway home. It was a great time and he is a good man and a good sailor and I would do it again in a heartbeat.
I hope some upper Chessy sailors might want to help pilot Ian through the C&D canal and once on the Chesapeake there are lots of places to pick up and drop off crew members. Ever sail on a ketch rigged sailboat like an Allied Seawind 32'? It was a great experience for me and I encourage others to encourage Dr. Ian Scott (yes, he is mostly Scottish) as non-paid crew to help him get this nice classic plastic 'old shoe' boat down the coast.
I would join him if not for my own boats in the water and commitments on land.
