Tips

Maybe off-topic for this forum, maybe not. Is it customary to offer a tip to a delivery skipper and his crew and, if so, how much?

Respectfully,

Dave

Excellent question.

Been on three deliveries as a "sort of delivery captain" - none were as a "for hire" person - all were as a favour for friends

1 - covered all my expenses, and bought be a couple of very nice "thank you" gifts. I was very pleasantly surprised. He probably could have done it without me.

2 - covered some of my expenses and then stopped half way through the delivery. The guy was green as grass and could not have done it without me.

3 - cover all my costs - had a great time. No 'tip" but that was fine. He needed assistance but was a very fast learner.

That's it for me.

Rik
