Crew for Thailand, Malaysia, Malacca straights, Singapore and Borneo.
From November 2009 to October 2010 we will be cruising this beautiful region diving, snorkeling and exploring slowly.

Itinerary November 2009 to March 2010
Starting in Phuket here are a few of the places we will be visiting:- Similin Islands,Phang Nga, Krabi, Phi Phi Islands, Ao Nang, Racha Islands, Surin Islands, Koh Lanta, Koh Tarutoa, Butang group,Koh Muk, Koh lipe, Koh Ha Yai, and many more.
Also Langkawi and Penang in Malaysia.
There are many beautiful islands with mountains, rivers and waterfalls to explore.
Phuket is the best airport to join for this leg, transport from Phuket to join us is Quick and cheap.

Itinerary April 2010 to October 2010
Malaysia, Malacca straights, Singapore, Borneo, Sarawak, Johor, Indonesia. This is a real adventure ,We will be diving in some of the best sites in the world and world war II ship wrecks.
For this leg preference will be given to crew who will be diving.
Kuala Lumpur is the best airport for this leg, air transport with Air Asia is very cheap

my daughter and boyfriend wanted to crew a yacht on this route ..she knows thailand quite well and would come alone if no more room for b/f...she is 19 and very fit can dive and good swimmer.
I intend to do the same route but probably a year later..john cummings

I would think paying crew is a charter? Does your insurance cover this? I am not against supplementing your lifestyle, but call it what it is. How legal is this where you are sailing? All these things should be known by future crew, charterers, guest, or what ever you wish to call them. If someone is to get injured? How will this be handled while aboard your vessel?.......i2f

These are legitimate questions.

Also, you say at your site:

To my mind, "paying crew" is a contradiction in terms. When someone pays for a trip aboard a vessel, they are usually passengers.

There are arrangements where students pay for an opportunity to gain experience aboard a vessel. A curriculum is followed, they receive training, and often awarded a certificate.

There are other arrangements where folks share expenses, but those expenses are usually pegged to the variable costs such as food, fuel, moorage etc.

But this situation seems to ask the "crew" to pay a fixed price (although I couldn't find what that might be?) for the "opportunity." Caveat emptor.

Also, since this appears to be an advertisement for a business arrangement, at a minimum we will remove the link.
