Looking to weekend in So Cal, hoping to do the haha.

Hi,

My name is James, I'm 31 years old, in good shape, and have a few ASA certs (101 and 103) and basic boating knowledge.

After years of putting it off due to "adult" obligations, I was confronted by my HR person and told that I'm hitting the limit of accrued vacation time, and will need to spend some of it soon, so I've got clearance from work to go do the Haha. =)

Before then, I'd really like to get some experience here in Southern California on the weekends. (or the occasional long weekend) I'm happy to help out with gas/food/etc and will stay after and help clean up the boat etc.

Any sailing experience is good experience, but because I'm trying to get on a haha boat, overnights, crossings, etc would be especially appreciated. If, by the way, you're looking to do the Haha and want to test drive potential crew, let me know.

I'm admittedly rusty, having not owned my own boat for years, but I crew a few times a year for a friend, (who flies out from Oklahoma, so I don't get to do it too often) and it seems to go well enough. I remember the rules of the road, and to check for that lovely diesel smell before firing up the iron mainsaill.

I can keep honest counsel, ride, run, mar a curious
tale in telling it, and deliver a plain message
bluntly: that which ordinary men are fit for, I am
qualified in; and the best of me is diligence.

I can be contacted either on this thread, through private message or at j.thaddeus [at] gmail.com

Thank you for your consideration.

-- James
