Short notice: crew wanted Miami to Beaufort, NC
Hi,
I want to move my boat north now that storm season is almost upon us. You can tell want a newbie I am by how long I've waited! LOL. I am alone, and my current plan is to hop up the coast inlet to inlet, when the weather permits, and go inside when it doesn't. I will eventually land somewhere in the Chesapeake.
I'd rather go non-stop from Miami, or Ft. Lauderdale, straight to Beaufort, hoping to get a boost from the gulf stream, weather permitting of course. But I need one more person to help me keep watch. I've done a 4 hr on, 4 hr off schedule for a crossing on a friends boat, and it seemed to work well. But I'm too new at this to trust myself to make good judgements after just catnaps.
So ... does anyone out there nearby in Florida have a few days to spare to help me get north?
I'd even be very grateful for help with an offshore to St. Augustine or Mayport/Jacksonville! You can PM me here and I will get right back to you.
