Need to find fellow sailors going to Bahamas

Looking for other boats sailing to Bahamas in late May, early June 2011 to share travels with. First time going, and want to travel with other boats if possible.
Even simply crossing to Bimini would be nice.

Your timing seems a bit strange. Do you nave a hurricane hole you're heading to? Most are heading north at that time of year. I'll be heading there this Nov./Dec.

Only going to be there for about 2 weeks, hoping to dodge hurricanes, going to celebrate daughter's graduation. May only get to see Bimini and surrounding cays, possibly berry islands then head back.

Late May/early June would be the most appropriate (if at all) for crossing the Gulf Stream in such a small vessel - do you have a penchant for the old Disney E-Ticket ride?

I may be working on doing bareboat charter from PE to Bimini that time of year. Same sort of thing with the kids. When we get a little closer we'll have a better idea.

I'm planning on taking a 44 foot cat, not sure how you could possibly keep up in a 22 foot mono.

My brother and I have a 23 Sovereign and have been throwing the idea around about doing the same trip. We'll have a better idea come spring time.

Years ago, I did the trip from the Lake Worth inlet to West End and then the Abaco out islands about the same time you are planning your trip. The boat was a Seaforth 20 (yes, 20 feet) and I did it single handed. Hurricanes in May and June are not unheard of, but rarer than in August and September. Pick your weather and you will have a good time. Watch that Gulf Stream current on the way over. It flows fast off the coast of Florida.

Going from St. Lucie Inlet to Abacos at that time. Will be there until after the Abaco Regattas in mid-July. The season is great for sailing, just seek protected waters by mid-July (most of the time).
