What is best way to find delivery trips?

Hi,
Wish people would post a message when they get crew!
Replied to a number of posts looking for crew with no responses. Family taken care of and now retired @ 56 in good health. Have 40 ton, 40years sailing and offshore ship experience, including 7 years as captain of a 50 foot DAYCHARTER CAT. Love to work watches and do passages. Will work for expenses to build my resume.
Is it worthwhile taking crew and checking things out in person in Newport/NYC/MD/VA or are most passages prearranged?

I am looking for crew from North Carolina to Grand Bahama, just lost my crew 2 days before departure. Need to leave asap. Right now it is just two 40 year old females and we need a third person preferably with offshore/navigation experience. I will cover all costs for food, grog, etc during passage.
