Want to have a cheap boat in a warm clime
for example:
right now I know where there is a farrier trailer tri for $3,000
on ebay you can often find mid 20 ft sailboats around $2000.

Just looking for some adventure away from the gray :cold: north
messing around with boats , doing some travel, fish'n , etc

I had a similar idea and posted it a couple of years ago with no luck. Difference was that I was looking to put a little more money into a newer, 32'-36' boat that I could be comfortable living on for two or three weeks at a time. With live-aboard slips available in the Miami/Lauderdale area for $500 a month, 3 or 4 partners could make it pretty affordable. The boat could be put on the hard for the 6 hot months when boating up north is desireable.

The thing with having less of a boat is that it can be left on anchor for free.
Also I can handle spartan accommodations for short periods, but i would also utilize resorts, hotels, etc to give me a little luxury too.

Unless that is a Farrier Eagle/Tramp, I would stay well away from it. Any larger trimaran going for $3000 is going to be in really rotten shape with a lot of work necessary and will probably have an actual negative value.
