Looking to build experience - PNW area

26 y/o engineering student/sailor here, specifically looking to build experience offshore, and/or heavy weather conditions. Also for long passages like West Coast to Hawaii, SE Alaska, Mexico, etc [in either direction].

Background:

-I've been on the water my whole life, grew up in the San Juan Islands, and the son of a Coast Guard 44' Pilot
-Team player, super nice and respectful
-Sailing since age 12, had a Laser until I was 21
-Currently own a SJ24
-Crewed on J/30 for local races
-Extensive experience troubleshooting/repairing/maintaining electronics, diesels, etc. (VW/Audi Master Tech for 8 years and 2003 Universal Technical Institute graduate)

Also, I'm taking a trip on my bike down the coast, from the CAN border to MEX border in June 2011. If you'd like to have some sailing crew in the CA area from late June, throughout July, I'm your man! Will sail for beer

You might want to post on line on the Latitude 38 Crew list. Also, I would make my title more succinct. I.e., PNW offshore crew position wanted.

Would also help if you said what other skills you bring to the table as crew:

Are you certified in CPR?
Do you have advanced first aid training?
Can you stand a night watch?
Do you know navigation and how to plan a passage?
etc.

Looking for one more crew member to sail offshore from Mexico to Astoria Oregon. Leaving Mexico around June 1 and it will probably be close to 40 days out. If you are interested I will send more details. Trisha
