Hello all
i am looking to crew on a boat from anywhere in Europe, to anywhere accross the atlantic.
im ready to go ASAP, and am happy to pay my own expenses.
im a Sapper with the british army reserves, training to be an engineer. iv worked with a REME (Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers) Unit and am currently with an EOD (explosive ordinance disposal) Unit, and also done some training with the Officer training core.
im good at working under pressure, as a team, and in rough conditions (wet, cold, hungry, tired all at the same time).
i take military frame of mind for serious work: problem>asses>formulate plan>excecute.
2 years ago i taught carpentry in Uganda for a while. im good with tools.
I spent most of my childhood sailing, am very compitent on the water, and familiar with sailing concepts. have had a bit of experience sailing at sea (but overall its been relatively small boats).
im looking to get to the landmass accross atlantic, where i can hitchhike to the USA, pensylvania. as i am on a bit of a strange quest to thank some people that helped me a year ago.
i broke my leg just before i was due to set of on a long planned hitchhiking adventure, and got very depressed, twas a dark time for me, and several people really took care of me and were there for me.
i think that is the greatest thing a person can do, to be there for somone in need.
so i wish to thank them in person, from the bottom of my heart.
aside fom that, i play guitar, faily good at 'camp' cooking, and enjoy being around people.
