One or two persons wanted to sail from Isla Mujeres Mexico to New Orleans around the middle of May. I am currently awaiting parts and will leave here when they arrive.
Im A 31 Y.O. male from spain looking for the oportunity to start cruising on a sail boat. Im a handy man, diver, surfer, graphic designer and web designer (usefull if you want to do charters)
I've been traveling my whole life. Now im in mexico after 2 years traveling between panama and california.
I talk fluent english, native spanish and a bit of portuguese.
I'm interested. What kind of experience are you looking for? I have only small boat experience but I learn fast and I'm a decent cook. I'm looking to build my skills for when I buy my own boat soon. I'm currently living in Mexico and have US Citizenship and Mexican Residency in case it matteers. I'm in San Cristobal right now but could easily get to Isla Mujeres.
I can do that. And hopefully more. San Cris is in Chiapas, about 4 hours from the border with Guate and about 14 hours by bus from Merida, 18 from Cancun.
How long would the trip take and what kind of expenses are involved?
I'm sorry it took me so long to respond. I am still awaiting for a part to arrive. The trip will take less than a week. I am concerned that you are so far from Isla and would take some time to get here. After waiting over three weeks for my part I want to leave soon after it arrives. Please PM me with response.
Wow... I thought you have finsihed your trip and are relaxing in New Orleans.
I would love to join you if you have more delay (say till end of June). I am sailing to Bermuda, will be back in Mid June.
