Yacht Position Wanted! 3-5months from Sept Onwards...?

Hello everyone!

Yacht Position Wanted! Sept Onwards...Carribbean?

I am a confident, outgoing female of 24yrs with an AV Sales background and sailing experience on a family yacht from the age of 11. I am looking for a 3-5 month paid position (doesnt have the be the earth) as a general Deckhand/Stew/PA onboard a yacht with an interesting itinerary, ideally incorporating the Caribbean and maybe on to the south pacific area. I am very open to the type of crew and yacht. I like the idea of a family yacht with children, making pack lunches for days exploring etc but equally an adult crew with experienced skipper would be great.

I have hospitality experience and a lot of bar work under my belt.

I have my STCW95 course preliminary booked for late august if this is required and I will be ready and available to fly from the UK to anywhere from the 12th September 2011, maybe sooner!

If you are going on an adventure - i would love to come?!

Cruisers are cheap, best you will do is room and board unless you are very very lucky.

hey vicky,

i came across your ad while looking for a similar sailing opportunity. My sailing experience is similar (except i grew up sailing on fresh water in Canada) and im also looking to fly out of the UK to join a crew. im 23 female originally from Canada but moved out to Scotland to work and explore. I'm quite set on gaining some sailing experience this year and by September if nothing comes up i may just fly out and spend time around a good medit yaugt club. hopfully meet a few nice people and join a crew (even if just for racing). How is your search going? any proper advice you could send my way?

Hi Laura.

Things are good, this was the first post i put up really. Ive had a good few enquires. Ive got one im talking to at the moment which is perfect, we shall see if it pans out. Best tip i have is just write on all the forums check out crewseekers.co.uk (not Free though), be honest about your experience and dont give up. One important thing, trust your instincts, most people are genuine nice people just looking for crew. Some are not so nice, just be safe, dont meet anyone alone or anything - normal rules etc! Good Luck!!
