Seeking Crew: Aug. 12 sail from Galveston TX to WPB Fla

Seeking 1 or 2 additional volunteer crew for a Gulf Passage from Galveston, Texas to the West Palm Beach, Florida area. Departing around Aug. 12 2003. She is a 1973 Columbia 41 Sloop, bank repo but solid where it counts. I’ve been living aboard for 2.5 years now and am a marine biologist. I get her out more than most but this is my first sailing offshore passage. Some sailing experience is required. You must be willing to stand watch including at night, help with maintenance, cleaning, cooking and navigation. You must be adaptable, able to follow instructions, swim, be physically fit, don’t do drugs or smoke and be easy to get along with. If you are female, you may like to know that there will likely be one other female crew. This is an opportunity for adventurous healthy people to sail for free although you will need to cover your costs to and from the ship. Room and board are provided during the passage.

Seeking Crew: Aug. 12 sail from Galveston TX to WPB Fla

i''m an md also interested in biology and sailing, 52 yrs of age, living in gent, belgium, and working as a head and neck surgeon at the university hospitals gent. Experience with small boat sailing, followed some courses on coastal sailing. This august is to soon, but in the future i would love to make a longer sail trip. Willing to participate in all the tasks mentioned above. I would be happy if you could inform me about a trip in the more distant future meaning like next year.
thank you

Would very much like to hear more about your plans for WPB -- do you still need crew, is the leaving date of August 12 still good, etc.

I have sailed England and US waters (mostly racing in sub 35 feet vessels but some off shore) which has given me experience at the helm, sail trim, navigation/celestial navigation, night watch, etc.

Am 38 years old and am available within your time perameters.

I just delivered a boat from Carabelle Fl. to Clearwater Fl. I''ve been to Sea School and have passed the 6 pac exams. I can navigate and am good with maintenance problems. I''ve been sailing for 6 years and racing for 2 now. If interested give me a yell.
