Monhegan Race (Maine), August 12 & 13
I am considering possibly putting together a crew to race my Peterson 34 GREYHAWK in the Manana division of the Portland Yacht Club's Monhegan Race, and may be looking for one or two more experienced crew. This division is for fully-crewed spinnaker racing for boats with handicaps greater than 103 or so (we rate 123).
The race starts on Friday, August 12 -- it would be an 83-mile offshore over-nighter, so ideally we should finish sometime on Saturday, August 13... The event is preceded by a party Thursday, August 11, following the Portland Yacht Club's regular Thursday night race (which we could use for practice), and concludes with a fantastic pancake breakfast on Sunday, August 14.
If possible, I would like to have a practice session in advance, out of Boothbay Harbor, perhaps Saturday August 6 or Sunday August 7?
