ADVICE TO PROSPECTIVE CREW

Word of advice if you want to crew:

Put your location in your Topic Title! As a skipper it is frustrating looking at every "Looking to Crew" post only to find after spending much time that none of the posts are within 200 miles of your boat!

I''m assuming I''m not alone on this - I''m not likely to even open your post unless a location is given, or unless I''ve really got a lot of time on my hands (which doesn''t happen often!)

Regards, and good luck!

ADVICE TO PROSPECTIVE CREW

Good advice - would be great if the skippers did the same!

Thanks

ADVICE TO PROSPECTIVE CREW

If you dont have alot of time you probally shouldnt be on a sailboat. It would be nice to find crew out of your own port, but in my case crewing and getting crew we have always used a plane and location has never been an issue. -thomas

ADVICE TO PROSPECTIVE CREW

Well, excuuuuuse me! I guess I need to crawl back in my hole then huh?! How do you really feel there Tommy, don''t hold back!

Just trying to offer 2 cents to help crew find boats and skippers find crew, or is that not the purpose of this forum?

Glad to see you have all the time in the world to cruise the message boards. Me? I''d rather be cruising IN MY BOAT!

Happy Sailing to you too!

ADVICE TO PROSPECTIVE CREW

Maybe you guys should also consider posting whether you have an attitude problem or not...geez, just because someone makes a suggestion doesn''t mean it has to be taken...and if you don''t like the suggestion but it''s not hurting anything for someone to try it, then keep your mouth quiet.

Some people have alot of time and some don''t...some want their crew available quick and some don''t care...could we just play nice with each other.

Be gentle sailors...except for you Big Red...I know that would be asking too much!

ADVICE TO PROSPECTIVE CREW

Well, we can at least be sure that neither Tommy nor I will have any crew banging down our doors to go sailing with us huh?

(I''m actually laughing through all this, but that'' tough to convey in this medium!)

There''s no room for crew with our attitudes onboard!

Have a great one!

Fortunately attitudes can be thrown overboard to make room for more important things...such as friends, crew, or bottles of wine!

Tom - OUTSTANDING Pics, thanks! Looks like it was a perfect trip! I concur with your definition of happiness - it is NO DOUBT a full cup, and I''d add "at the helm."

(Perhaps if I hadn''t E-shouted at the group in my original subject title, I''d have been mo'' betta received, huh?! - but, I get bored too, and sometimes if you shake things up, interesting people come out of the woodwork!)

Hey, if you''re ever in The Buzzard''s Bay area, drop me a line at Scramble380@yahoo.com, and come tip a few aboard my humble vessel!

Best Regards,
Scrambleman

ADVICE TO PROSPECTIVE CREW

sail 1 dzn makes a good point, that location can help crew and boats connect, so if you''re crew or need crew keep that in mind before your next post.

On the other hand, I''m glad Tommy didn''t much care about locations, as he responded to my post here for a trip from Daytona to New York (and yes, I mentioned both departure and destination points in the subject line) when I couldn''t get friends or family that live within 200 miles to sign on.

We had a great trip, as you can see by the pics, and Tommy was a great crew, without any trace of attitude

Thanks!
Mike
