Experienced Crew Avail East Coast to BVIs or part, Oct-Dec 2011

Howdy. I'm a 42-yr-old sailor and emergency doctor, looking to get from the Chesapeake to the BVIs between late October (after the Schooner Race) and Christmas.

I've worked tall ships as 2nd mate and deckhand, have been an Outward Bound captain and skippered yachts up to 45 ft for friends and self. Have a 100-ton inland ticket and took a radar course. Also STCW.

Would LOVE a paid position, but if not found, would go for free. I'm fun and easy going (don't we all say that about ourselves?), bring along a fiddle as well as a small medical kit.

I can travel up or down the east coast, of course, to get to your boat if required. Also could do part of the trip, if you're not going all the way (say, to FL)

Greetings. I am considering moving my Wauquiez 45S from Annapolis to Miami for the winter. Departure tentatively scheduled first week of Nov, weather permitting. Have identified three qualified/documented crew; want to have six onboard (incuding owner, me) to stand watches. Plan on non-stop itinerary, Annapolis, Norfolk, acrossGS, south to Fla., back across GS, to Miami. Position is unpaid but will reimburse travel/incidental expenses. Most of crew are well known/club members with offshore experience. Estimate total transit time 9 days, with weather hold built in to schedule. Please provide background on sailing experience, references. Also, a bit more expansion on you MD quals. re school, currnet position. Thanks>

are you still looking to crew E. coast to Key's.
we are leaving westbrook Ct 1st leg Oct 15 down to Coinjock NC by the 19th or 20th. the owner is doing 2nd and 3rd legs from there, right now he has one other crew. It would be unpaid position. Owner does pickup expenses while on board. Both owner and crew are lic. OUPV , with lots of experience, and very easy going. Looking at your brief list of experience above you should be good fit.
