Thanks for the additional advice. There is a good jackline on board, and I'm definitely getting an inflatable life jacket. I'll be wearing it the entire trip.
I also have a decent pair of sailing gloves. Need a good hat. I don't like hats, but I'll suck it up.
Funny about socks, too. I hate socks, but they are definitely more comfortable with the boat shoes. Sperrys are falling apart inside anyway. I would just as soon go barefoot but the captain wants closed-toed shoes, which I will abide by and understand completely.
I have a fleece liner for my jacket. Wish I had pants. Might look for some just to be safe (and warm).
