In your case, I would say: "Experienced crew looking for a boat in the US". The more information you can provide succinctly in your title, the more likely a skipper is to click on your post. Once there, they would learn that you have a 100 Ton license, only need a week lead time, etc. Of course, posters can go too far the other way as well. I saw a post in Seamanship the other day: "Had a bad day sailing, ran aground". I think it's a safe bet that most sailors on this forum know that running aground is "having a bad day", and I'm not particularly drawn to hear about somebody else's "bad day". The only reason I noticed the post was because I happened to do a search on kedging. In that case, what the OP wanted was methods for getting off (excuse the expression!). Plenty of effective titles come to mind such as "Ran aground, now what?" All I'm saying, is that if you are looking for answers on this forum (as I do all the time), or a ride, your title should be effective for best results.
