Expert Companion needed Annapolis to Jax

Help!!! I am buying my 1st boat !! She is a 1976 Morgan 28 OI. She is an above average beauty, wheel steering, furling jib etc. I need to sail her from Annapolis to Jax. I plan to leave Annapolis Oct 10-11 (during the Boat Show) and I want to sail down the Chesapeake to Norfolk. I need someone who has sailed the ICW and/or offshore from Norfolk to Jax. I have 10 days to get her as far as I can. This is sure to be an adventure! I have never made this passage before, I cannot afford a professional delivery captain, but I am willing to pay for your return trip to Wash DC or other points north.

I have sailed off shore to Jax from Norfolk. ICW from Annapolis to Miami. Extensive sailing the Chesapeake. Its an easy trip along the ICW, but takes more time than most people think. Off shore is certainly faster, but you have the weather concerns. I am not available until later in OCT. If you have the flexibility email me.

Congratulations Terri!
Its takes much longer then one thinks is right. figure 50 miles a day at best. If you want to be in FL and sail, have the boat trucked down there.- It might be cheeper in the end anyway. The ICW is truly beautiful and should be on everyone''s list of things to do, but if you don''t get the boat south pretty quickly, you will be sorry. Going offshore is not an option for you as a new sailor until SC anyway. trust me.
