Oct 9-13 Annapolis Boat Show to Norfolk

I am buying my first boat.... a 1976 Morgan 28OI. I need to sail her from Annapolis to Norfolk and then to Jax FL. If you plan to be at the boat show and would like to join me from Annapolis to Norfolk .... great!!! I will be in Annapolis Oct 9-13 and I plan to leave on the 11th. I am a 39yr old housewife and my husband thinks that I have lost my mind! As an avid sailor, I think anything is possible, including this maiden voyage! Any crew help would be appreciated !!

You haven''t lost your mind, you just want to write a couple of more chapters in the book!!

Sounds like the makings of a great adventure. Do your homework on boat preparation and crew selection and don''t let the schedule drive you. It is pretty short. And boat preparation doesn''t mean re-stocking that bulkhead liquor shelf necessarily <g>.

If the description I see on yachtworld is your boat, you will need quite a list of items to take it off shore. Doing this prep from FLA will be tough. If finances are tight, you might commit to the ICW for this trip. Concentrate on spares and backups for an extended motoring trip.
