I could crew for you if I get back to work by Monday morning. And my wife lets me go. I've made the trip before and have a fair amount of overnight watch experience. Not especially interested in extreme outdoor experiences, either, unless it involves mermaids.

James, I could give you a hand with a day or two notice. I just sold my Cape Dory 30 and am having withdrawl symptoms. I've made the trip to and from Delaware Bay going 24/7 and just deliverd my CD to Oriental NC. If you need a hand, try my email christopher dot french 3 at navy dot mil.

Smile Saturday a.m. departure looks favorable...

Update:

Marine survey with recommendations is acceptable. Insurance commitment issued.

Weather looks favorable, although winds may be too light on Sat p.m.: Cold front passes through Friday night, low pressure passes to the south. High pressure fills in from the West.

Marine forecast for Thomas Point:

Saturday: N wind 8 to 13 kt becoming variable and less than 5 kt in the afternoon. Sunny. Waves 1 ft or less.

Saturday Night: Variable winds less than 5 kt becoming E around 6 kt after midnight. Mostly clear. Waves 1 ft or less.

Sunday: ESE wind around 6 kt becoming variable and less than 5 kt in the afternoon. Mostly sunny. Waves 1 ft or less

Thanks to all who graciously offered help in sailing the P28 to the Coan River (this is the listserv at its best). A good friend of mine who I thought was too busy with his family has agreed to help me move the boat so it appears that I will not need any help from the kind folks on sailnet who volunteered.

I hope to meet you all soon at a sailnet raftup or listserv party in the future.

Smile Done!

My buddy backed out at the last minute, so I did the trip by myself.

Got a late start and spent the night in Solomon's Island.

Small craft advisory on Saturday. Grey skies and windy on Sunday. Photos on my facebook page:

Glad I am done with the delivery!

Where did you go in the Coan? Private home or Coan River marina? Not many sailboats at Lewisetta marina although Mark does haul quite a few for the winter.
