I assume they have limited experience. And lack of better words and fair to assume that if sh*t hits the fan, they want their captain knows how to save their asses.

To be real honest with you, I don't think your boat has the needed equipment for the trip. There is no mention of navigation equipment, no sign of dingy or life raft, and I know there aren't exposure suits. I doubt there is an Epirb, or PLB. What appears to be a great adventure for you, your dad and brother can go bad quickly. Without at least some of the items I mentioned, the risk is too great, the responsibility is too great. I hope you well.

...sounds like a really bad idea, out there this time of year. Nothing can justify such a trip. Especially on a schedule! Come skiing with the rest of us, at least you can dress for it...

The trip is in April, it should be warm enough, but the water will still be cold. I was cold once....Korea 1978.

Standard draft is 6 ft.
The information says that this one is shoal draft - 3 ft.
Rogers did make a few centerboard boats - could this be one of them?
Only reason I can think of.
