I am a refrigeration service tech. How hard is it to find work in this area while cruising?

Sue and Larry respond:
Dear Roger,
If you're hoping to find work repairing refrigeration units in the cruising anchorages of the world, forget it. Most cruisers are cheap and help each other for free.
A possible option might be to cruise from one major yachting port to another and work for an established boat yard or company that provides services within your field of expertise. You'd probably be in great demand at those places, and they're always looking for qualified help.
If you're willing to work outside of the refrigeration field, you can find a job tomorrow, anywhere. Maybe not as well paying, but there's help-wanted signs everywhere we cruise.
We hope things work out for you.
