Sue & Larry is on a distinguished road
Preparing Financially

I am ready to buy my boat and slowly get it fitted out for the cruise. One of the things that I've done for this is prepare my finances. The problem is living in Colombia. With hyperinflation of over 20 percent, it has made the task very difficult. I am 41 years old and I would like to retire in my mid-50s. Do you think it is too late to start a retirement program in the States?

Sue and Larry respond:

It sounds like a tough economic situation down there. Although we're not international banking and investment experts, it might be a good idea for you to change your money earned into US dollars. Try looking into offshore banking countries like the Cayman Islands.

As far as a retirement program, it's never too late to start one—anywhere. (We really don't feel qualified to say specifically where in the US.) Just start now and put away the absolute most you can. Compounding rates of return work like magic.

Best Regards,
Sue & Larry
