I have not visited those areas yet but communicate regularly with a boat that''s been in Grand Cayman for some months now. There is a protected estuary around the S side of the island from the city that offers good protection in storm conditions, something I was unaware of. Insofar as Jamaica is concerned, Port Antonio seems to earn the most frequent positive comments tho'' some cruisers visit other areas (Montego Bay, Kingston) without mishap. Tough conditions ashore, from what we hear.
